RFID system applied to Turkish frozen meat retailer for cargo tracking
[ad_1]
Bereket Doner, Turkey’s largest frozen meat retailer, is using the RFID system provided by RFID Enabled Solution to track the process of loading, weighing, and shipping. The RFID system can not only improve the visibility of the operation process, such as loading and weighing time, but also play a role in preventing theft. An RFID reader is installed at the exit. If there is a theft, the system will issue an alarm.
The solution includes RFID readers installed at the scale and exit, and the back-end AIMS data software, which is mainly used to store tag data.
The low temperature environment determines that the RFID tags used in the system must meet the following conditions: able to withstand low temperature conditions; able to read the tag data outside the refrigerator; the tags are not easy to remove to prevent theft. In view of the above conditions, Alien’s ALN-9654 G UHF EPC Gen 2 passive RFID tag is used in the solution, and the tag is attached to the first layer of the plastic tag, and then wrapped in several layers. The Motorola XR400 reader is used to read the label and the bar code printed on the label surface, and send the code, weight, shelf life and other data to the AIMS inventory order management system. Among them, the bar code is the same as the ID of the RIFD tag.
The AIMS software can share the data in the SQL database and can receive order information at any time. When the restaurant places an order, the staff puts the meat on a plate, weighs it, reads the RFID tag through the RFID reader on the scale, and sends information such as weight, RFID code, and production date to the AIMS software.
In order to ensure the accuracy of label reading and prevent repeated reading of the label, a set of closed reading and writing channels installed at the exit was developed, which includes Motorola FX7400, Alien ALR-9900+ and four Motorola AN 400 antennas.
If the information of the installed product does not match the order information, the system will issue a prompt and display it on the computer screen. Employees can reinstall the disk according to the error message on the screen. At the same time, there is also a certain amount of monitoring for the weighing of the plated products. In addition, the Motorola XR400 RFID reader installed at the exit plays a role of anti-theft. If there is an abnormal process product passing by, the system will immediately issue an alarm.
Before the RFID system is installed, it takes 3 to 30 minutes for the staff to load and ship the products. However, since the adoption of this system, the efficiency has been greatly improved. Bereket Doner uses approximately 450,000 RFID tags each year. According to information feedback, the label can still work normally after experiencing a low temperature environment of minus 40 degrees Celsius, and the system operates well.
