Install RFID tags on salmon

The US Army Corps of Engineers will use these readers to monitor the number of fish stocks, migration types, water volume, and different dam passages and streams. In order to track the salmon that is about to be extinct, the agency is cooperating with the Banaville Electric Power Authority BPA, located in the Columbia River Basin, to use Digital Angel’s passive integrated PIN tags for this tracking.

The PIN label has the size of a rice grain, has a small coil antenna and integrated circuit inside, and is packaged in glass. Detailed information of each identified fish, such as size and weight, is associated with the tag and stored in the online database.
