FAG Industrial Services, a German company that specializes in providing services and tools for manufacturers, recently released a new mobile monitoring device. The new equipment uses RFID technology to analyze the condition of the machine so that the manufacturer can repair the damaged machine in advance.

This new set of equipment judges whether the equipment is being used correctly by checking sensors and other measuring points. During each inspection, these measurement data must be collected in the correct order to determine the operating conditions of the machine and whether maintenance needs to be arranged.

FAG Detector III is a set of handheld devices that users can use to monitor almost all types of rotating machines used in the production process. FAG Detector III can detect unbalance, misalignment, bearing burnt and other abnormal machine conditions.

FAG Detector III can be used to monitor early wear of rotating machinery such as ball bearings. “The main purpose of FAG Detector III is to avoid unplanned downtime of the machine, resulting in losses.

This set of equipment currently also has an optional RFID function, that is, the RFID tag is fixed on the measuring point of the machine with adhesive or screws. The frequency of the tag is 13.56 MHz, which is in line with ISO 15693 tags. The maximum distance of FAG Detector III’s integrated RFID reader to read tags is 4 cm, and the measurement data is recorded in the correct order.

The ID number of each tag is related to a specific measuring point or machine in the back-end database. In this way, the collection of measurement data is more reliable, and the error data collection that may occur in manual operation is avoided.

RFID tags replace the previously commonly used barcodes. Bar codes are easy to fall off or blurred in a hot and humid manufacturing environment, and the readability is poor.
