3. Terminal peripheral mode

3.1 Working principle

Connect the ID card reader and the bank terminal directly through the serial port, add a specific reader driver to the front-end processor, that is, the front-end processor treats the reader as a peripheral of the terminal and adds it to the software of the front-end processor Control the code of the reader so that the document information (citizen ID number, name, gender, ethnicity, date of birth, address, issuing unit, issuing date, expiration date, photo) in the new ID card can be read and displayed on the terminal On the screen, banking personnel complete the identification and data collection work by viewing the information on the terminal screen; at the same time, the automatic entry and verification of ID card information can also be achieved through the secondary development of the application.

3.4 Features

Basically, the original banking operations are not changed, but an ID card reader device is added to the terminal to realize the functions of identity recognition and online data collection. At present, banks’ existing monochrome character terminals will perform worse on the image information on the certificate.

Since this method requires a partial transformation of the bank’s front-end computer system, when installing this program, it is necessary to cooperate with the bank’s technology department to carry out system embedding development and testing.
