1 Overview

As one of the most important components of asset composition, fixed assets are an important guarantee for the completion of production and operation tasks, and at the same time have a significant impact on financial conditions.

Fixed asset management currently relies more on traditional manual management methods and means. Data collection and entry have always been manual operations, with low efficiency and high error rates. Barcode technology can greatly improve this situation, but due to the limitations of barcode technology itself (easily damaged, poor stain resistance, short reading distance, etc.), only one barcode can be scanned at a time, and asset inventory is performed each time. It requires two persons to work in a team, and one scans the nuclear data to carry out the physical inventory of assets. The work efficiency is not high.

The RFID electronic label used in the construction of the RFID asset management system of this project has a bar code printed on the surface, which can realize rapid asset inventory and management.

2. Program features

● Based on the B/S architecture, the system can realize hierarchical and sub-authority management, and only need to assign the corresponding account authority to manage hierarchically. The system can configure corresponding page, function, button and other permissions for different user roles.

●Using a unified RFID data server as the application middleware to realize the unified management of front-end equipment and data collection and processing. The information from each reader is summarized and integrated into a standard data format. Each business application subsystem publishes electronic label data.

● Comprehensively consider user experience, cost-effectiveness, and application scenario requirements, and adopt cost-effective electronic tags, RFID handsets, RFID readers and other equipment.

3. Comparison of RFID and barcode/QR code application methods

The advantage of barcode/two-dimensional code is that it is cheap, but the disadvantage is that it cannot be rewritten, and it cannot be read in batches from a long distance. It is easy to be smeared and cannot be read after a long time.

The advantage of RFID technology is that it can be read in batches at a long distance, is not afraid of being damaged, and the data can be read and written. The current main disadvantage is that the cost is higher than that of barcodes.

The application of RFID technology in the field of asset management/warehouse management is mainly to realize batch data reading and improve work efficiency.

5. System Architecture

The system consists of RFID electronic tags, RFID handsets, RFID fixed readers and RFID asset management system platform.

● RFID electronic label: Pasted on the surface of the asset, with built-in asset data information. 900M UHF passive electronic tags are used for asset management applications that mainly require asset scanning and inventory. Semi-active electronic tags are usually used for asset management applications that require entry and exit management.

● Four-channel RFID fixed reader: mainly used for access channels to read 900M UHF passive electronic tags.

● RFID handheld: mainly used for asset inventory and rapid asset scanning.

● RFID asset management system: mainly applies asset data management, inventory management, etc.

● Handheld asset management APP: realize mobile asset scanning and asset inventory.

6. Main application process

6.1. Asset Scan

The asset scanning process is as follows:

● The user holds an RFID handheld device to scan RFID electronic tags from a long distance.

● The handheld asset management APP automatically displays the asset information according to the read RFID electronic tag information.

6.2. Asset inventory

The user selects the asset to be counted in the asset management backstage according to the management requirements, and generates the count task.

● The user logs in to the asset management APP with an RFID handheld, and automatically downloads the inventory task.

● The user holds the RFID handheld device to scan the electronic tags of the assets, and the assets are counted. The asset management APP prompts the scanned asset information, the assets that have been counted, and the assets that have not been counted.

● Upload the asset inventory results to the asset management platform.

6.3. Asset access management (optional)

Deploy access control RFID readers in the entry and exit channels to read the assets in the entry and exit channels.

1) System management

System management is for the system administrator to manage and assign permissions to the users of the entire system. The sub-function modules under it include: role management, user management, permission setting, and password modification.

● Role management: Assign roles to users of the system. Different roles have different permissions. In the role management page, you can create, edit, and delete roles.

● User management: User management is the system administrator’s management of system user accounts and passwords, which can add or delete users, modify user information, and modify the activation status of users. (New users are inactive by default and need to be activated before they can be used)

● Authority setting: The authority setting function is the function that the administrator assigns the authority of the role, and each role can only use the functions within its own authority.

● Modify password: The password modification function can modify the login password of the current user. To modify the password, you need to enter the old password.

2) Asset management

The asset management function is to manage assets, including asset registration and storage, asset information modification, asset deletion and asset tag binding, as well as asset area management and area authority management.

● Area management: Area management is to manage the area where assets are located, including adding, modifying, and deleting asset areas.

●Regional authority management: Regional authority management is the authority that the administrator assigns to users. Except for the administrator (super), each user can only see the area and assets within his authority on the asset management system platform.

● Asset data import: The asset data import is the user importing the asset information in the Excel template to the asset management system platform.

● Asset data management: Asset data management is a page for managing all asset data, including functions such as adding, modifying, and deleting asset information, and binding RFID tags to assets.

3) Asset monitoring

The asset monitoring function can monitor the passage of assets in a specific location in real time and view past monitoring records.

● Real-time monitoring: Real-time monitoring can view the current asset passing status of the designated monitoring point

● Monitoring record: The monitoring record can view the monitoring record of the monitoring point.

4) Inventory management

Inventory management is a functional module for asset inventory management, including inventory task management, inventory records, and abnormal asset management.

● Inventory task management: The inventory task function can create a new inventory task, add or remove assets that need to be inventoryed for the inventory task

● Inventory result management: The inventory results page displays the inventory results of all inventory tasks, and you can view the details of each inventory task.

● Abnormal asset management

● Function description: The abnormal asset page can view the abnormal asset information submitted by the handheld terminal, and can modify and delete the abnormal asset information.

8. Main functions of RFID handset APP

The main functional structure of the RFID handset APP is as shown in the figure below

1) Main interface

After entering the correct user name and password, enter the main page of the system. This software mainly includes four functional modules: asset inventory, asset scanning, data relationship, and configuration tools.

2) Asset inventory

The asset inventory function is to perform inventory tasks and take inventory of the assets in the inventory task. After selecting the inventory task, it displays the assets that have been inventoryed, not inventoryed, and assets that are not within the task. After the inventory is completed, the inventory results can be submitted to the server. If an abnormal situation is found in the asset, the abnormal situation can be submitted to the server.

3) Asset scanning

The asset scanning function is used to read asset tags and obtain corresponding asset information, which can be used to find items, check abnormalities, etc.If an abnormal situation is found in the asset, you can submit the abnormal situation to the server

4) Data update

The data update function is to enable the handheld to download personnel, assets, inventory tasks and other data from the server to the local.

According to different materials of fixed assets, different labels are used. There are two main types of tags:

Ordinary asset management tags and anti-metal asset management tags, or use a balanced asset tag.

For general applications, a balanced asset tag is recommended.

Taking into account the actual application of the project, it is recommended to use RFID card issuing machine + ordinary label printer method, the cost is about several thousand yuan, which greatly reduces the construction cost.
