The chip itself has a certain storage space for recording the animal’s ID number. It should be professionally read and written. When the device is close to the animal’s body (the position where the chip is implanted), the scanned animal ID information can be automatically displayed on the screen of the reader through the scan button, so as to achieve the purpose of identity confirmation and convenient management.
At present, this low-frequency RFID chip (in accordance with the ISO11784/11785 standard) has been widely used in laboratory animal management. Through preliminary understanding and investigation, we found that due to the storage space limitation of the chip itself, the reading device can only read the ID number of the animal. When it is necessary to read more additional animal information, it is powerless. This is also the current type of chip. The shortcomings, in actual use, we often need to view individual animal information, treatment information, observation information or feeding information, etc.
In response to the above situation, Lann has specially developed a set of “Embedded RFID Mobile PDA Animal Information Scanning System” through our system to further expand the functions of the RFID scanning system. Its main feature is that not only the ID number of the animal can be obtained during each scan, but also other operational functions can be completed, such as: viewing the individual information of the animal, adding observation records to viewing, adding treatment records to viewing, etc. .
At the beginning of the development of this system, we considered the flexibility of the system implementation, because some animal laboratories already have their own RFID system software, generally PC-based systems, and the reader-writer has weaker functions and can only read The ID number of the animal. In fact, customers can easily implement our system as long as they open to us the data sheets of our existing software (related to management functions). For customers who only have general animal management software and do not involve RFID applications, they only need to open the corresponding data sheet.
