1 background introduction
1.1 Introduction to RFID technology
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), commonly known as electronic tags, is widely used in fields such as assets, personnel, supply chain, and tool management. Radio frequency identification is a non-contact automatic identification technology. It automatically identifies target objects and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals. The identification work does not require manual intervention and can work in various harsh environments. UHF RFID technology can identify high-speed moving objects from a long distance, and can identify multiple tags at the same time, which is quick and convenient to operate.
The basic RFID application system consists of three parts: Tag: consists of coupling elements and chips, each tag has a unique electronic code, attached to the object to identify the target object; Reader: read (sometimes The device that can also write tag information can be designed as a handheld or fixed type; Middleware (MiddleWare): plays an intermediary role between the RFID tag and the application system, and is the data inflow and outflow between the application system and the reader Software. The basic RFID application system composition, as shown in the figure:
Figure 1-1. Basic RFID application system composition
Comparing radio frequency identification technology with barcode technology, radio frequency identification has many advantages, such as long identification distance, no need for visual visibility of tags during identification, ability to be used in harsh environments, content can be updated, and multiple tags can be read in batches , Can identify high-speed moving objects, large amount of information, not easy to imitate, etc.
Radio frequency identification technology is considered to be one of the most promising information technologies in the 21st century. In terms of current technological development, the RFID field is at the forefront of the development of the Internet of Things and is also one of the basic technologies for the realization of the Internet of Things. RFID technology has a wide range of applications and a high degree of automation, and is gradually internationalized and popularized, such as personnel access management, vehicle management, asset management, production process management, logistics management, cargo tracking management, and so on. The core of its technology is to attach RFID tags to make people, vehicles, confidential media or goods become targets that can be identified by the system through artificial identification methods. Through the management of targets and related information, high efficiency, The purpose of scientific management.
1.2 Apparel industry background
In the eyes of many people, the clothing industry is a low-tech labor-intensive industry, but in fact it is not the case. This industry has an inseparable relationship with technological development. From the production of clothing fabrics to clothing design, production, logistics, and terminal sales, the support of science and technology is indispensable in any link. At present, my country’s clothing industry has clearly defined the development goal of a “clothing powerhouse”, and the “clothing powerhouse” must start with technology, brand, and culture to transform and upgrade the industry. When it comes to implementing the strategy, it is necessary to start with the two links of “technological contribution rate” and “brand contribution rate”. Increasing the contribution rate of science and technology is to gradually make the Chinese garment industry stand at the technological commanding heights of the global garment industry, use science and technology to create market opportunities, and use science and technology to create value-added benefits.
The so-called RFID, its full English name is Radio Frequency Identification, which translates to radio frequency identification, and is also colloquially called “electronic tag”. Don’t underestimate this little “label”, it is the core technology of the Internet of Things era. After a piece of clothing is produced, an RFID tag is attached to it, so that it does not need to be opened for inspection or random inspection when it is in and out of the warehouse. According to current technology, using RFID scanners, the reading rate of a box of 100 garments within 50~100 cm is 100%. As a result, in the whole box of goods, how many kinds of garments are in different colors and sizes It is clear how the distribution is made. A box of goods can be scanned at one time and pass the inspection quickly, instead of reviewing one by one like in the barcode era, which can greatly improve the efficiency of goods in and out of the warehouse.
For the same reason, the retail end can also get more convenience. In the receiving process, the type and quantity of the pre-received goods are set through the background, without the participation of many people, and it can be completed quickly by simply scanning. When counting, place the goods on a dedicated counting table, and you can see the variety, color, size, and number of items at a glance. If it finds that any product on the shelf is not “all colors and full size”, the system will notify the clerk to replenish the goods….
At present, the application of RFID technology in the apparel industry has received more and more attention from companies, because the person in charge of the company has gradually realized that through RFID technology, the transparency of supply chain management and inventory turnover rate can be improved, and the loss of out of stock and the loss of stock exchange can be effectively reduced. It can also enhance the consumer experience of the store. Some people summarize the contribution of RFID to clothing companies in the following four points: fast: fast logistics efficiency, fast delivery points, improving logistics operation efficiency; accurate: accurate data, accurate collection of clothing circulation data in all links of the supply chain; prevention : By embedding the RFID chip into the clothing to realize the anti-smuggling and anti-counterfeiting effects; Enjoy: Through the RFID smart store, improve the consumer experience, through interaction and display more products, quickly respond to consumer needs, thereby improving the service level and store sales Forehead.
2 Scheme design
2.1 Labeling scheme
Since the clothing is not affixed with RFID tags before being sent to the store, it is necessary to label the clothing when it is stored in the store, and associate the label information with the barcode information of the clothing; there are generally two options for the label: recyclable and non-recyclable. as follows. This step can be omitted if the garment is already labeled before arriving in the store.
2.1.1. The label is recyclable
1) RFID tag with lock
This label is a special label applied in the field of clothing. It combines the two functions of anti-theft and sales management. It is combined with items through nails, which is similar to the current EASelectronic labelSimilarly, it complies with the EPC C1G2 (ISO 18000-6C) standard, the operating frequency is 860MHz~960MHz, and it can be used worldwide.

It is not easy to label and needs to be sewn inside the clothes, which is costly and consumable.
2.2 Management process
The clothing store system is required to support item-level management of RFID tags. It is characterized by fast sales settlement, efficient inventory and anti-theft functions.
Tagging is used for tagging of recycled RFID tags or returned goods for re-sales. It can be done through a desktop card issuance device (SR-3200B) or a “fixed reader (SR-2414) + antenna” installed in the sales counter. After associating the clothing information for sale with the EPC of the regenerated RFID clothing tag, rewrite it into the EPC storage area of the RFID tag.
Inspection, used for inspection without opening the box during the receiving operation, and inspect the goods through the handheld device (SR-6601 or AT870), provided that the main store management system provides the RFID detailed information of the received clothing; if the clothing is before the store If the RFID tag is not affixed, it needs to be labeled first and then the handheld machine is used for the warehouse inspection and scanning.
SR-6601 handheld
For sales, equipment such as “fixed reader (SR-2414) + antenna” is installed in the sales counter and can communicate with the sales system. This set of equipment automatically recognizes the RFID tag information on the clothing tag and directly generates sales details. KILL tags after sales, or manual recycling after the logo has been sold, if RFID tags are labeled in stores, it is recommended to use recyclable tags to reduce costs, recycle the electronic tags after the clothing is sold, and print barcodes on the sales receipts, etc. Information, with the receipt to do the return processing.
Inventory, the in-store inventory uses a “handheld machine (SR-6601)”. After connecting to the retail system (USB, WIFI, etc.), the inventory task is obtained, and the inventory is returned to the retail system.
Anti-theft, optional functions. The anti-theft function can be realized through the “automatic identification channel (SD-ID-A2)”. When unsold clothing passes through the channel, it will automatically alarm. The automatic identification channel is installed on both sides of the store entrance.
Magic mirror (optional), can increase the shopping experience.
The pictures and other information used in the magic mirror can come from the store or the brand’s own database system; before the new product is launched, the required database information has been established, and the magic mirror obtains cloud database information through synchronization.
The magic mirror system uses a unique RFID mirror to allow customers to perform self-service customer service. During fitting, an RFID reader is connected to the mirror, and a digital screen is embedded in the mirror. When customers try on clothes in the fitting room, the reader reads the EPC C1G2 passive RFID tag on the clothes, and transmits the read ID number to the computer built into the magic mirror through a cable connection. The digital screen on the mirror will display information such as clothes introductions, photos from various angles, prices, and recommended related collocations obtained from the database.
This solution is only used as an advanced auxiliary tool, and cannot replace the fitting room. On the basis of the smart mirror, the smart hanger can also be expanded to analyze and mine the customer’s clothing picking behavior in the store. Through the expansion, it can further support functions such as anti-theft, settlement, and inventory, and realize the overall management of the store.
