  1 background introduction

1.1 Introduction to RFID technology

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), commonly known as electronic tags, is widely used in fields such as assets, personnel, supply chain, and tool management. Radio frequency identification is a non-contact automatic identification technology. It automatically identifies target objects and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals. The identification work does not require manual intervention and can work in various harsh environments.UHFRFIDThe technology can recognize high-speed moving objects from a long distance, and can recognize multiple tags at the same time, which is quick and convenient to operate.

The basic RFID application system consists of three parts: Tag: consists of coupling elements and chips, each tag has a unique electronic code, attached to the object to identify the target object; Reader: read (sometimes The device that can also write tag information can be designed as a handheld or fixed type; Middleware (MiddleWare): plays an intermediary role between the RFID tag and the application system, and is the data inflow and outflow between the application system and the reader Software. The basic RFID application system composition, as shown in the figure:

Figure 1-1. Basic RFID application system composition

Comparing radio frequency identification technology with barcode technology, radio frequency identification has many advantages, such as long identification distance, no need for visual visibility of tags during identification, ability to be used in harsh environments, content can be updated, and multiple tags can be read in batches , Can identify high-speed moving objects, large amount of information, not easy to imitate, etc.

Radio frequency identification technology is considered to be one of the most promising information technologies in the 21st century. In terms of current technological development, the RFID field is at the forefront of the development of the Internet of Things and is also one of the basic technologies for the realization of the Internet of Things. RFID technology has a wide range of applications and a high degree of automation, and is gradually internationalized and popularized, such as personnel access management, vehicle management, asset management, production process management, logistics management, cargo tracking management, and so on. The core of its technology is to attach RFID tags to make people, vehicles, confidential media or goods become targets that can be identified by the system through artificial identification methods. Through the management of targets and related information, high efficiency, The purpose of scientific management.

1.2 Apparel industry background

In the eyes of many people, the clothing industry is a low-tech labor-intensive industry, but in fact it is not the case. This industry has an inseparable relationship with technological development. From the production of clothing fabrics to clothing design, production, logistics, and terminal sales, the support of science and technology is indispensable in any link. At present, my country’s clothing industry has clearly defined the development goal of a “clothing powerhouse”, and the “clothing powerhouse” must start with technology, brand, and culture to transform and upgrade the industry. When it comes to implementing the strategy, it is necessary to start with the two links of “technological contribution rate” and “brand contribution rate”. Increasing the contribution rate of science and technology is to gradually make the Chinese garment industry stand at the technological commanding heights of the global garment industry, use science and technology to create market opportunities, and use science and technology to create value-added benefits.

The so-called RFID, its full English name is Radio Frequency Identification, which translates to radio frequency identification, and is also colloquially called “electronic tag”. Don’t underestimate this little “label”, it is the core technology of the Internet of Things era. After a piece of clothing is produced, an RFID tag is attached to it, so that it does not need to be opened for inspection or random inspection when it is in and out of the warehouse. According to current technology, using RFID scanners, the reading rate of a box of 100 garments within 50~100 cm is 100%. As a result, in the whole box of goods, how many kinds of garments are in different colors and sizes It is clear how the distribution is made. A box of goods can be scanned at one time and pass the inspection quickly, instead of reviewing one by one like in the barcode era, which can greatly improve the efficiency of goods in and out of the warehouse.

For the same reason, the retail end can also get more convenience. In the receiving process, the type and quantity of the pre-received goods are set through the background, without the participation of many people, and it can be completed quickly by simply scanning. When counting, place the goods on a dedicated counting table, and you can see the variety, color, size, and number of items at a glance. If it finds that any product on the shelf is not “all colors and full size”, the system will notify the clerk to replenish the goods….

At present, the application of RFID technology in the apparel industry has received more and more attention from companies, because the person in charge of the company has gradually realized that through RFID technology, the transparency of supply chain management and inventory turnover rate can be improved, and the loss of out of stock and the loss of stock exchange can be effectively reduced. It can also enhance the consumer experience of the store. Some people summarize the contribution of RFID to clothing companies in the following four points: fast: fast logistics efficiency, fast delivery points, improving logistics operation efficiency; accurate: accurate data, accurate collection of clothing circulation data in all links of the supply chain; prevention : By embedding the RFID chip into the clothing to realize the anti-smuggling and anti-counterfeiting effects; Enjoy: Through the RFID smart store, improve the consumer experience, through interaction and display more products, quickly respond to consumer needs, thereby improving the service level and store sales Forehead.

 2 scheme design

2.1 Labeling scheme

Clothing companies can put forward requirements for label inlay models and RFID tag styles, and customize RFID tags to label manufacturers; label manufacturers provide finished RFID tags to clothing companies according to the requirements of clothing companies, which can provide printing content and write RFID tags Store the content information (such as the unique code of the label), and the label manufacturer will complete the printing of the tag content and the writing of the electronic label data.

After the garment RFID label is produced, it is sent to the garment processing factory. After the factory finishes the processing and labeling, it is packed in a specific quantity (such as 50 to 300 pieces) and sent to the garment enterprise logistics warehouse.

Generally, there are three types of RFID tags currently used on clothing: tag, woven label, and self-adhesive.

2.1.1 Hang tags

The tag label is used in clothing logistics management, and is used in combination with items by pasting, binding, and ties to improve the efficiency of inventory counting. The label is enclosed by PVC material, in which the RFID chip will store the unique identification and other information; RFID electronic tags can also be embedded in current clothing tags, generally paper tags and PVC tags, as shown in the figure below :

Figure 2-1. RFID paper tag

This method does not need to increase the workload of the processing plant, just like the current process, it only needs to hang the RFID tag on the clothes; but the cost of the tag is higher.

2.1.2 Weaving labels

RFID woven labels are used by garment manufacturers to sew on garments during processing, and can be used worldwide. The label is encapsulated by the clothing woven label, and the RFID chip will store the unique identification and other updated information. The product can be used for clothing inventory tracking and inventory. The appearance, color and size can be customized according to customer needs; as shown in the following figure:

Figure 2-2. RFID woven label

  This method requires the electronic tag to be embedded in the production process, and the tag cost is the highest;

2.1.3 Stickers

The self-adhesive RFID UHF label is printed and written in advance and sent to the clothing manufacturer. After the clothing is processed, it is pasted on the clothing tag, and the label information corresponds to the clothing. The label complies with the EPC C1G2 (ISO 18000-6C) standard, the operating frequency is 860MHz ~ 960MHz, and can be used worldwide. As shown below:

Figure 2-3, RFID self-adhesive label

This solution needs to increase the manual labeling process, and the labeling cost is the lowest.

2.2 Process design

2.2.1 Storage

When receiving the goods, the whole box of garments will pass through the “single-level item identification terminal (third generation SIL-2414-C)”, and the whole box will be inspected without unpacking. This item-level item identification terminal integrates industrial control computers, RFID reading and writing equipment, conveying equipment and shielding devices, which can guarantee a 99.99% reading rate of clothing labels in the box; for very rare cases of missing readings, you can use the handheld machine to open the box for inspection. To ensure 100% accuracy and reliability; the whole box of clothing is automatically counted and verified when it passes through the item-level item identification terminal, and then the inspection data is uploaded to the WMS system.

2.2.2 Picking

 1. Sorting of loose parts (recommended)

When unpacking and sorting loose parts after picking, Shanghai Shijia’s “RFID mobile sorting cart” can be used. The mobile sorting cart is movable and integrates on-board computer and RFID reading and writing equipment. Obtain the bulk picking task list in a certain dispatch order through the on-board terminal on the sorting cart, and perform the counting and verification of the bulk picking when the picked clothing passes through the RFID device. When an error occurs, it will alarm and load it after picking. Into the packaging carton.

In the case of a sorting conveyor belt at the customer, RFID equipment can be installed on the conveyor belt to scan and count the sorted goods in real time, eliminating the trouble of manual counting during sorting. When sorting according to the order, the conveyor belt will be displayed next to it. There is a display to display the type and quantity of clothes that each worker needs to sort, and the current sorted quantity and difference will be displayed when passing through the channel. When each person is responsible for several varieties and multiple people are sorting an order at the same time It can greatly shorten the workload of workers looking for goods and points, and greatly improve the efficiency of sorting; it needs to be designed according to the customer’s on-site situation, and the SR-2414 reader of our company is assumed to be read on the conveyor belt in real time.

 2. Picking confirmation

After sorting the whole box of clothing, when it passes through the “single-level item identification terminal (third generation SIL-2414-C)”, the whole box will be inspected against the dispatch list, and the whole box weight data can be performed at the same time if necessary Collect (recommended), and alert immediately if there is an error. Print the packing list after the inspection is correct.

2.2.3 Shipment

  1. Code wheel (recommended)

When placing the clothing packaging box on the RFID pallet, use the RFID handheld terminal to scan the packing list barcode on the packaging box one by one. After the code disk is completed, the RFID tag of the pallet is read for information association, and at the same time, the corresponding information of each packaging box is obtained. The truck or container number is verified to ensure that the goods on the pallet only correspond to the same container number, and the container number is bound to the RFID tag of the pallet. Waiting for shipment after the code plate.

  2. Shipment (recommended)

Shijia’s “RFID Forklift System” can be used for delivery. This forklift system integrates on-board terminals and RFID reading and writing equipment, which can realize the automation of forklift operations. The forklift reads the RFID tag of the pallet when it lifts the pallet, and the vehicle-mounted terminal can obtain and prompt the driver the truck or container number corresponding to the current pallet in real time. After the pallet is delivered to the designated container, the delivery confirmation is completed through the vehicle-mounted terminal.

The barcode system can also be used to obtain the container number by reading the pallet barcode or the packing list barcode through the barcode handheld terminal, and complete the delivery confirmation.

2.2.4 Inventory

For the inventory of tail goods, due to environmental factors and RFID technical characteristics, there are many uncertainties that make it impossible to guarantee that there will be no missed reading. Therefore, it is not recommended to carry out a single RFID tag inventory of clothing in the box.

It is recommended to take inventory of the first-level goods in the packaging box, provided that the packaging box identification (bar code or RFID tag) corresponds to the clothing information in the box (this corresponding relationship is recorded in the WMS system database), and the change in the number of clothing in the box At the same time, the corresponding information in the WMS system database must be changed at the same time. To ensure this corresponding information, it can be achieved through the “single-level item identification terminal (third generation SIL-2414-C)” one by one before the tail goods are returned to the warehouse. After counting the clothes in the box, print the packing list, and transmit the corresponding information of the two to the WMS system for comparison, so as to complete the inventory work.
