1. Background
As one of the pillar industries of my country’s tertiary industry, the hotel industry has always played an important role in the development of society and people’s lives. Since my country’s reform and opening up, China’s hotel industry has developed rapidly, showing rapid growth and prosperity. At the same time, The country continues to increase its emphasis on the tourism industry economy, which provides favorable support for the development of my country’s hotel industry.
In recent years, the high-end hotel market has become the main battlefield of competition in the Chinese hotel industry, and the increase in the number of high-end hotels is also significantly higher than that of other budget hotels. In the 30 years of development of the hotel industry in China, the overall development of the hotel industry is mainly affected by the relationship between supply and demand. The number of high-end hotels in certain cities has been saturated, and the competition is becoming increasingly serious.
In the traditional hotel business, the guest check-in guidance and elevator control are all done by the hotel staff. The labor cost is high and the hotel’s characteristics cannot be highlighted. In the context of the increasingly fierce competition in the hotel industry and the increasing labor costs of service personnel year by year, how to create the characteristics of the hotel, improve the quality of the hotel, and improve the guest’s experience of staying is every hotel decision maker under the premise of reducing hotel operating costs. the problem we are facing.
2. Technology Application
With the development of science and technology, especially the rapid development of Internet of Things technology represented by RFID and other products, the hotel industry has ushered in new development opportunities. RFID radio frequency identification is a kind of automatic identification technology with long reading distance, penetrating reading, and reading multiple tags at the same time. Based on the characteristics of RFID technology, building a modern smart hotel can not only provide consumers with thoughtful, convenient, Comfortable and satisfying service meets consumers’ “needs for personalized service and information service”, and can also bring economic and social benefits to the hotel, realizing a win-win situation for both the hotel and consumers.
2.1 Construction goals
Create a brand-new hotel service management model based on RFID technology. Through the construction of a smart hotel management system, a series of information services including hotel card issuance, elevator intelligent control, and customer intelligent guidance are provided, which brings more care, convenience, and convenience to consumption. A comfortable check-in environment improves the check-in experience of customers. At the same time, it provides hotel managers and decision-makers with timely and accurate information on all aspects of hotel operations, improves management efficiency and reduces management costs.
2.2 Construction content
Based on the principle of overall planning and distributed implementation, the smart hotel management system based on RFID technology is initially constructed from three parts: card issuing subsystem, elevator linkage control, and guest room smart guidance.
Card Issuing Subsystem
Realize the unified management of RFID room cards (VIP RFID cards and ordinary customer RFID cards) and issue cards when customers check in. When a customer checks in, the front desk staff scans the RFID room card, and the back-end system establishes the corresponding relationship between the room card, customer information, and room information.
Elevator linkage control
For VIP customers, when the customer arrives at the elevator (VIP temporary dedicated elevator), they can make an elevator call by swiping the VIP card. The elevator intelligent control system obtains the VIP customer identity and sets the elevator as a VIP elevator through the intermediate interface, temporarily independent of the elevator. The control system separately serves the VIP customer and controls the elevator to reach the customer’s occupancy floor and authorized floor. After the customer gets out of the elevator, it releases the elevator control right to the elevator control system for unified dispatch.
When the customer enters the elevator and swipes the RFID card, the customer check-in guidance system recognizes the user’s identity, confirms the customer’s check-in floor and authorized floor by connecting with the customer management system, and controls the elevator to reach the designated floor.
Guest Room Wisdom Guidance
After the customer holds the RFID room card and exits the elevator, the system automatically senses the information of the RFID room card, and guides the customer to quickly find his room by guiding the display screen and controlling the room indicator.
Through this system, customers can evaluate hotel services and informatization, which can not only improve customer satisfaction, but also help hotels further improve service quality and informatization level.
3. System solution
3.1 The overall scheme of the system
The RFID smart hotel management system is mainly composed of a card issuance management system, an elevator intelligent control system, and a customer intelligent navigation system.
The system network topology is shown in Figure 1:
3.2 Card Issuing Subsystem
The card issuance subsystem is to issue an RFID room card to every customer who comes to check in, and correspond to the customer information and room information, realize the check-in information through the RFID card, and provide the underlying data support for other systems to ensure that Throughout the entire check-in period of the customer, the perception devices distributed in various areas of the hotel can recognize the identity of the customer and its check-in information through the collection of the card information, so as to dispatch the intelligent equipment deployed by the hotel to provide intelligent services to the customer.
3.3 Elevator intelligent control system
The elevator intelligent control subsystem mainly realizes the two main functions of VIP customer elevator direct control and intelligent control in the elevator.
The reader is placed on the top of the elevator, and the antenna is mounted on the top, and electromagnetic waves cover the inner space of the elevator. The reader has a built-in embedded system. After power-on, it will automatically start to read the card, and the card information will be directly transmitted to the elevator middleware.

3.4 Customer Smart Navigation System
The main function of the customer guidance subsystem is controlled by the liquid crystal display and the room indicator, helping customers find the room conveniently and quickly. When the customer gets out of the elevator, the RFID reader reads the customer’s room card information through the RFID antenna installed at the elevator exit to determine the customer’s identity. According to the customer’s identity information, the customer guidance system finds the room number of the customer staying in, and displays the customer’s walking direction on the LCD screen. At the same time, the light control middleware controls the indicator light at the door of the room to light up.
Guest room navigation: After the customer walks out of the elevator, he will guide the customer to quickly find his room through the display screen.
Guest room light control: After the customer walks out of the elevator, the light control module controls the guest room indicator light to turn on through the light control interface.
RFID equipment is hidden on the ceiling, facing the elevator entrance area. Using a fixed RFID reader to control the working mode of 4 antennas to cover the elevator exit area, accurately obtain the room card information of the customers who walked out of the elevator after the floor is reached, and complete the room navigation and lighting control.

4. Hardware equipment selection
In the application of this system, the integrated reader in the elevator and the fixed reader in the corridor are the core data collection equipment. The accurate acquisition of card information for customers entering and exiting elevators is to support elevator linkage control and The key to guest room smart guidance. The human body itself is a huge source of interference to electromagnetic waves. At the same time, there may be multiple customers entering and leaving the elevator at the same time. Therefore, to overcome human interference and accurately obtain multiple room card information, higher requirements are placed on RFID readers. .
