Project Background

Due to over-development and pollution all over the world, global warming has intensified, and mankind may face unprecedented catastrophe. How to efficiently save energy and reduce emissions and reduce the use of limited resources is a solution that countries around the world are currently actively looking for. In contrast, ICP DAS uses its outstanding R&D capabilities in energy-saving control applications, intelligent environmental monitoring applications, and adaptive safety and care applications as the main areas, and proposes various system solutions. In particular, oil is the most important energy source in this century, and efficient management and use of oil is one of the important issues.

Project Description

This application system is based on the concept of energy saving by ICP DAS to establish a fishing vessel oil management system, which is used as the basis for the issuance of oil subsidies for all fishing vessels in Taiwan. Prior to the absence of this system, due to the lack of an integrated management system for fishery oil, this subsidy policy was often used by some people to obtain subsidized oil by fraud and sell it for profit. In this regard, ICP DAS uses the concept of Internet of Things to actually establish a fishing vessel track and oil management system, which has been successfully applied to fishery management throughout Taiwan. Furthermore, the effective management of the distribution of fishery oil also provides a basic platform for the future marine management system.

This system uses GPS (Global Positioning System) to cooperate with the research and development of the voyage recorder, and records the GPS data during the voyage in the voyage recorder, and uses the fishing boat to record the data through the wireless Wi-Fi (or Ethernet) transmission interface when refueling. The GPS data in the device is transmitted to the navigation reader, and the oil subsidy for fishing boats is determined according to the actual route and time of the operation, so as to avoid unnecessary waste of resources caused by human factors. And the navigation reader can regularly transmit data to the database of the central control center through the Internet, and the control center can also remotely monitor the navigation reader to ensure the normal operation of the system. Let the information of the location, sailing hours and trajectory of all fishing boats in Taiwan be linked together by the network, which is convenient for management. On the other hand, in the event of a maritime accident, the GPS data recorded in the system can provide relevant units to clarify the responsibility for the accident, and the function can also be like a black box on an airplane.

In the future, the catch management system of the RD ID system and the information of various water temperature and salinity sensors can be integrated to understand the status of fishery and walrus in various regions to lay the foundation for extensive marine management.

System characteristics

GPS recorder has wired and wireless transmission methods to ensure uninterrupted data transmission

Provide a remote management system to effectively manage each remote reader

The system uses heterogeneous encryption to ensure data security

Clarify attribution of liability for accidents at sea

Can be combined with GIS system to grasp the historical trend of fishing boats

Can really grasp the actual time of fishing boats nationwide

Effective management of fishery ship fuel consumption and subsidies

Voyage recorder architecture

The voyage recorder contains a GPS decoder component and a programmable recorder system. Using an external antenna to receive GPS signals can facilitate the installation of the voyage recorder anywhere on the aircraft, and transmit the received positioning information to the voyage recorder installed inside the aircraft through the antenna wire. And after processing by the decoder component inside the voyage recorder, the GPS information is recorded in the voyage recorder.

Since this voyage recorder is configured on a mobile aircraft, and the quality of the power supply on the aircraft is not stable, the voyage recorder is designed to tolerate a larger power supply range (10 volts to 30 volts DC power supply). When an unannounced power outage occurs, the previously collected location records can still be kept in the voyage recorder. In addition, the IP66 rating (in line with the ICE 60529 IPX7 standard) shell design can completely block dust from entering, achieve complete dustproof function, and can accept strong water jets, and can operate normally, which is suitable for long-term operation in harsh environments device of.

Because of the excellent characteristics of the voyage recorder, it can be installed on various aircraft, such as merchant ships, fishing boats, steam locomotives, and aviation aircraft. It can not only calculate the path distance, but also record the trajectory path of the aircraft’s voyage. It can be used with a range reader for a wider range of applications.

Voyage Reader Architecture

This voyage reader is specially designed for voyage recorders. It is constructed by the W-8741 PAC embedded controller launched by ICP DAS. It is equipped with two 10M/100M Ethernet transmission ports, two USB ports and three One I/O expansion slot. The main function is to receive GPS data recorded on the voyage recorder, and to protect the internal data of the voyage recorder with a password to ensure the correctness of the data.

The operating system of W-8741 uses Microsoft’s embedded operating system Windows CE.NET, and the internal software programs can be written in languages such as EVC, C#.NET and VB.NET. After the voyage reader is powered on, it will automatically check the connection status of the Ethernet network. Once the voyage recorder is connected via the Ethernet network, it will receive the data uploaded by the voyage recorder and verify the uploaded password. It will continue to receive global satellite positioning information records. After all the information is received, a new password is regenerated so that the voyage recorder can re-record the new information.

Extended application

The management system established by the concept of the Internet of Things is not only suitable for fishery management information, but also can be applied to land vehicles. The land has GPRS/GSM communication capabilities, so it can also be used with GPRS/GSM communication technology. Real-time position feedback can effectively control the movement of the car and clarify the responsibility for accidents. This kind of Internet of Things system can effectively manage the environmental protection fleet or freight express fleet in real time, and can also reduce operating costs and increase work efficiency.

Summarize

Because the readers and recorders constructed by ICP DAS adopt a fanless architecture and have high stability characteristics, they are especially suitable for use in small spaces in various navigation equipment. They also have anti-vibration and water-repellent functions. The built-in GPS interface provides accurate real-time detection. Various controls with voyage equipment. At the same time, in order to improve the completeness of the data, all the data are stored in a database, and the writing work is eliminated and the work process is shortened, and the behavior of the ship or fleet and the management of all the conditions of the ship/ fleet can be monitored in the most effective time.
As of 2010, the voyage recorder of the fishing vessel’s track and oil management system has been installed on tens of thousands of fishing vessels, and the amount of oil used in fishery has been effectively controlled, which not only achieves the purpose of energy saving, carbon saving and expenditure, but also helps The country saves billions of dollars in expenditures.
