 I. Overview

The automatic storage and sorting system of clothing hanging in the distribution center is a new topic in China. According to the characteristics and requirements of the system, combined with our research institute’s long-term research experience and application results of radio frequency identification technology (RFID), we have proposed a solution for an automatic storage and sorting system for garment hanging, which integrates radio frequency identification technology and barcode technology. . The design purpose of this program is to control system costs, improve the accuracy of the entire process and the operating efficiency of bottleneck links.

 2. System design basis and efficiency calculation

The storage area can store 63,000 pieces of clothing (the number of tops, long windbreakers are halved)
The maximum operating radius of manual storage and picking in the inventory area: 26 meters
Outbound sorting direction: more than 10 routes
Temporary storage road: more than 10 roads
The speed of the conveyor line of the system can reach 1.0~1.6m/s, and the maximum efficiency of in and out of the warehouse is 20000~32000 pieces/hour respectively, which is 4~5 times higher than that of the pure barcode system.

Three, process flow description

3.1 System analysis

1) Efficiency bottleneck
In comparison, there are two main bottlenecks in the current clothing storage and distribution system. First, before the clothing enters the distribution center, the clothing item is bundled with the linked information. In the case of using barcodes, this link needs to manually bind the hook information and the information of the clothes hung on the hook one by one; second, when a single piece of clothing is merged and hooked out of the library, it is also necessary to manually link the barcode with the clothes and the hook. The information is bound one by one. These have greatly affected the efficiency of the entire distribution process and become a bottleneck that needs to be resolved urgently.

2) The hidden dangers of errors
When the operators in the storage area select garments according to the picking list and load the selected garments into the shipping line, the central system cannot determine whether the number and type of the selected garments are consistent with the picking list. This is precisely the reason why the barcode system can only manage to the hook level and cannot detect the information of a single piece of clothing, so that the shipment cannot be reviewed, leading to the possibility of errors.

3.2 Proposal

1) Application level of RFID
Pieces of clothing: RFID tags are hung before each piece of clothing is put in the warehouse, and the tags are automatically issued by the card issuer according to the receipt, and are used with the single pieces of clothing in the distribution center until the clothing is shipped out of the warehouse to collect the labels.
Hook: The label on the hook corresponds to the hook one-to-one, one-time labeling, lifetime use, and circulation within the distribution center. In addition, a bar code is printed on the label on the hook at the same time, and the bar code and the label are also one-to-one correspondence.

2) RFID improves efficiency
When the garment is delivered, the RFID reader will automatically read all the labels on the garment and the hook at one time and complete the binding (bottleneck one). At the same time, it eliminates the need for information bundling of clothing merging and hooking during picking (bottleneck two).

3) RFID improves accuracy
When the hook with clothing passes through the RFID reader in the picking area, the reader automatically reads the clothing tag information and immediately checks with the picking list to check whether the picking and shipment is correct.

4) Application significance of barcode
In this scheme, the barcode is only used at the hook level, and is used to bind the information of the hook and the cargo location when the clothing is stored in the warehouse. The reason for using barcode is that it mainly performs one-to-one correspondence of small-scale information operations, which is more advantageous than RFID barcodes; at the same time, the timely use of barcode systems can reduce system costs.

3.3 The specific process of the distribution center

1. Receiving and warehousing process
When the goods arrive at the receiving platform, the hook is hung on the trolley, and the clothes are manually hung on the unpowered suspension temporary storage line by the power suspension conveyor line. When the trolley passes the RFID antenna, the system automatically bundles the hooks and clothes information in batches. According to the product information obtained by RFID, the system automatically transports the trolley to the designated storage area

2. Storage process
When the cargo enters the storage area, the unpowered accumulation line staff receives the operation instruction of the barcode handheld terminal, and then hangs the hook on the cargo position through the cart. Scan the hook barcode and the preset cargo position barcode with the barcode handheld terminal, and return the bound information to management The center completes the loading space operation

3. Selection process
The staff receives the picking information from the handheld terminal and picks out the hook or a single piece of clothing according to the information and confirms that the single piece of clothing is combined with the hook according to the order, and the hook is hung on the hanging conveyor line automatically out of the warehouse

4. The sorting review processThe hook passes through the RFID antenna door of the cargo area, prints the shipping list, hangs the hook on the cart and pushes it to the temporary storage area to be sent out. The garment is transported to the RFID reader in the shipping area through the hanging line to read the hook label for the purpose Sorting locally, reading clothing labels for review, electronic label recycling

  Four, system structure design

4.1 System hardware structure

The system hardware includes RFID system equipment and bar code system equipment. The equipment is connected to the central computer and managed by the central computer. The schematic diagram is shown in Figure 1 below:

Figure 1: Hardware system structure diagram

4.2 System software structure

The system software consists of a front-end business system that collects data and executes line actions, middleware that processes data, and a back-end application system that manages the distribution center. The schematic diagram is shown in Figure 2 below:

Figure 2: Software system structure diagram

 Five, system characteristics

Due to the long-distance, non-contact reading performance of the RFID reader, the information read is accurate, reliable and efficient
Only RFID system is used for the conveying line body, which can greatly increase the speed of the assembly line, thereby improving the efficiency of distribution
When receiving the goods, the clothes and the hook information are automatically bundled in batches, and the receiving efficiency is high
When picking, there is no need to re-bundle clothes and hook information after a single piece of clothing is combined and hooked, and the picking speed is fast
The bar code delivery review is to review the linked information, which is an indirect review. The system reviews the item of clothing, and the review reliability is high.
Localized RFID equipment is cost-effective
Electronic tags can be recycled and used for a long time with one investment, eliminating the need to re-stick barcodes for each piece of clothing stored in the warehouse, which can greatly reduce operating costs in the long run.
