Through this cooperation, Psion Teklogix will integrate IDENTEC’s intelligent long-distance RFID technology in its 7525 and 7535 impact-resistant handheld computing devices. The shock-resistant and durable 7525 is specially designed for data collection. It is flexible, programmable, expandable and easy to carry. The 7535 is a rugged and durable PC handheld computing device designed for harsh working environments such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, docks, distribution centers, or ports.
Intelligent Long Range (ILR) active RFID technology was first introduced in 1998, and it is designed for harsh working environments such as transportation and manufacturing plants. Compared with the 1-3 meters working distance of passive RFID, ILR active RFID technology can be applied to 100 meters or 300 feet. At the same time, this technology requires low energy, and customers can save more electricity. Active long-distance RFID technology is very stable and has low cost of ownership, and the operating standards and protocols can be changed at will according to the requirements of the customer’s area.
