1. Application analysis of RFID technology in the tobacco industry

Because RFID technology can ensure high-quality information exchange in the supply chain, it can play a huge role in tobacco monopoly management.

It effectively implements the “source” tracking solution and its ability to fully reflect its transparency in the supply chain.Contain or even eliminate extracorporeal circulation. According to the RFID solution, each cigarette factory will have a fixed electronic identification mark, and each cigarette will have an RFID label on the package when it leaves the factory (it can also be accurate to each cigarette as required). The label and the manufacturer All electronic identities will be recorded on the label chip, and relevant connections will be established. At the same time, the information entered into the label will also include the product name, specifications, this production batch, where it is sold, and other related information. Once you leave the cigarette factory, these The information cannot be modified. Therefore, each RFID label is different, and it can represent the unique identity of each (bar) cigarette. After the cigarette enters the circulation field, at each station in the circulation field, the RFID system can automatically add relevant information using the read-write device configured in each circulation link, without manual intervention. Therefore, any RFID tag can clearly and accurately tell us the “identity”, storage and transportation history, destination and other useful information of the cigarette (bar). Once there is a problem with the product, RFID is a 100% solution to track the source of cigarettes, so it can answer questions about “where does the cigarette come from, and whether the intermediate processing link is complete” and other questions, and give detailed and reliable answers.

The tobacco industry is currently following a trend of large concentration, which indicates that the “one-warehouse” distribution operation mode of “modern logistics” will be increasingly used in large-scale and busy logistics distribution. The highly stressful working environment and the need for strict cost control have led to more stringent requirements for logistics management. The inherent powerful management functions of the RFID solution can meet this requirement of the tobacco industry.

When cigarettes with RFID tags arrive at the logistics distribution center, the RFID system can automatically realize the warehousing function: when the pallet enters the warehouse gate, the reader installed on the door will immediately read the label content of all cigarettes on the pallet. Even the contents of cigarette labels stacked on the bottom of the tray can be read. The system checks this information with the shipping records stored in the label to detect possible errors, and then adds the latest cigarette storage location and status to the RFID label. This ensures precise inventory control, and even knows exactly how many boxes of cigarettes are currently in transit, the origin and destination of the transit, and the expected time of arrival.

The logistics distribution center needs to allocate goods according to the requirements of each order. At present, this work requires a lot of manual processing, and there are many efficiency and accuracy problems. Once an error occurs, it will take a lot of time and energy to find and correct it again, so it usually needs to be rechecked many times. With the help of the RFID system, we only need to quickly fill the pallets according to the order. Before delivery, the system will automatically check all out-of-the-ware cigarettes through the reader; at the same time, cross-check whether the contents of the goods are consistent with the original order to ensure the supply of suitable goods And accurate quantity. In the more advanced automatic picking online, it can even fully realize automatic picking according to the RFID tags according to the order requirements, so as to realize fully automatic unmanned logistics sorting and warehouse management. When cigarettes reach retail customers, the RFID system can monitor each row of shelves (i.e. smart shelves) to understand the sales status of each type of cigarette, so that retail customers can promptly receive out-of-stock replenishment reminders; at the same time, RFID technology can also be used to prevent theft, fast and smart checkout, Even pointsAnalyze consumers’ buying habits and tendencies (this is also the main reason why some people oppose the promotion of RFID technology).

Once the RFID technology has been reasonably applied throughout the supply chain, the problem of data concentration becomes very easy and easy to implement. Because each piece (strip) of cigarettes (the smart identity tags (RFID tags)) automatically form a complete and huge supply chain system, the cigarettes are tracked at any time and the real situation of each link in the supply chain is automatically recorded. These detailed information Information can be directly controlled by the national and local cigarette management departments through the computer network system, so as to provide a comprehensive, detailed, accurate and timely decision-making basis for the national bureau’s macro-control and decision-making commands.

RFID can also be fully applied in the production and operation of cigarettes in the cigarette factory industry:
Tobacco tracking management (tobacco bundles, barrels and boxes)
Track non-tobacco materials by category (paper tube, adhesive, film, etc.)
Tracking management of NTM pallets (acetate fiber, printing materials, triacetin, etc.)
Filter tray and carton tracking
Cigarette shipping box ID, used for logistics, compliance with legal requirements and product identification

Many of these uses bring additional benefits to material suppliers, because traceability, regulatory assurance and improved supply chain efficiency can reduce supplier costs, and this will ultimately manifest as cigarette manufacturing Reduction in business costs.

The combination of RFID technology and the National Tobacco Administration’s industrial cigarette production and management decision-making management system can not only achieve the goal of “planning code retrieval, logistics tracking, and delivery confirmation” required by the National Bureau, but also standardly ensure the improvement of supply chain efficiency and cigarette manufacturing Reduction in business costs. Especially after the trial operation of the Hangzhou Cigarette Factory in 2005, the application of RFID technology in the cigarette industry is more feasible. At present, RFID electronic tag identification and read-write technology has been successfully applied to the Hangzhou Cigarette Factory’s cigarette production and management decision-making management system and pallet logistics turnover transportation. This practice has great reference value for the industrial and commercial logistics application of the tobacco industry, and it should be able to form a big A range of closed-loop systems.

3. Examples of RFID application of finished pallets in cigarette factories

At present, the production workshops of various cigarette factories are basically automated production in the entire process from material transportation, cigarettes to packaging and boxing. Strips of finished smoke are collected in front of the packing machine through a chute. In the process of packing cigarettes, 50 cigarettes are neatly stacked and pushed into the cigarette box, and the robot will automatically complete the sealing work (see Figure 1). At this time, a bar code label printed with the National Bureau of Cigarette Finished Box will be automatically affixed to the fixed position of the cigarette box.

Figure 1 The finished cigarette enters the box through the slide, and automatically completes the three tasks of sticking

We install RFID electronic tags on the pallets, which are very convenient to integrate with the original system. The barcode on the packaging box is automatically collected by the scanning equipment to collect the barcode information of the cigarettes. When palletizing, the barcode information of the cigarettes and the electronic label in the pallet are combined. Interrelated (see Figure 2).

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>

Figure 2 The palletizer loads 30 cigarettes into the pallet, and the RFID reading probe at the bottom of the conveyor belt faces the RFID tag in the pallet

After reading, writing, and palletizing, the data information of the 30 cigarettes on each pallet are all written into the RFID electronic tags embedded in the pallet for storage (see Figure 3).

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>

Figure 3 RFID tags embedded in the tray

In the warehouse, a mobile forklift shuttles between them, and workers quickly transport a pallet of finished cigarettes (see Figure 4).

Figure 4 Workers transport finished cigarettes in a whole stack

When palletizing in the package workshop, the RFID fixed reader is used to automatically associate 30 cigarettes with the pallet, and the information of 30 cigarettes is compressed into the electronic label of the pallet, and it is written to the server at the same time, and mobile RFID can be used to read and write. The device associates the piece of cigarette with the tray. In this way, the association between each pallet cigarette and the label can be ensured when entering the warehouse. These finished products can be directly transported out of the warehouse. In addition, if there are cigarettes on the pallet that need to be adjusted, it is necessary to use a mobile device that combines a barcode scanner and an electronic label reader to solve the problem of adjusting the pallet cigarettes during the internal management of the warehouse. (See Figure 5).

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>

Figure 5 Mobile reading and writing equipment, used to adjust the RFID data in the stack of cigarette trays

When the finished product is out of the warehouse, the tray containing 30 cigarettes passes through the RFID read-write device buried in the ground or dives into the wall. The information of all cigarettes can be directly read at one time and displayed through the large screen system located above the loading platform , Improve the efficiency of the warehouse and the accuracy of the data.

On the loading platform, the forklift transporting goods only needs to stay above the buried coil for 1 second, and the sound and light alarm next to it will inform the forklift driver whether the information is successfully read, and then it can be directly loaded into the truck. The reporter made a calculation on the side. From the forklift lifting the pallet to the completion of loading, the whole process only takes about 15 seconds (see Figure 6)

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>

Figure 6 When shipping from the warehouse, you only need to stay on the loading platform for a few seconds, and the data of 30 cigarettes will be obtained

When the finished cigarettes are put into the warehouse, after the finished pallets with electronic labels are sent to the company, there is no need to unstack them. The barcode data of 30 cigarettes can be scanned out and sent to the database at one time (see Figure 7).

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>
Figure 7 The stacks of cigarettes are automatically scanned and put into the warehouse through the conveyor belt

When warehousing, the forklift takes the pallets and stacks of cigarettes out of the truck and places them directly on the conveyor belt. RFID reading probes are installed between the rolling shafts at the beginning of the conveyor belt, and the staff is also informed by sound and light alarms whether the data is read or not. Fetch is successful (see Figure 8).

620)this.style.width=620;” border=0>

Figure 8 The screen next to the conveyor belt shows the information read from the RFID tag

The electronic label technology reduces the number of scans for a single cigarette from 30 times to one, and reduces the working links of unstacking and palletizing, shortening the time, reducing labor and cost. And it improves the efficiency of logistics and the accuracy of data. The system scheme greatly improves the efficiency of warehouse entry and exit of industrial and commercial links, improves the accuracy of data entry and exit, and reduces the chance of cigarette damage.
